I understand there is gonna be Rallycross at Lydden on Nov 29th.
Is there likely to be a good turnout of cars??, cos i'm planning to go see it.

January 3rd and February 7th for the winter rallycross - the November date has been scrubbed so that work to the circuit can be finished before the new year.

Just been looking at the Lydden Hill site and its showing "Winter Rallycross" events in both January and February. I guess these are not "official" race meetings (as in part of a race calender) and I was just wondering if anyone knows what classes will be present and/or whose likely to be racing?

Anybody know what the crack will be with MSA licences considering it's just after new year and we all know how slowly the MSA sort the licences.

Will they be accepting 2008 licences at this event?

Have to start off by saying what a great event last weekends Winter Rallycross was; good to get a Rallycross fix so early in the year – and all with pretty reasonable weather conditions!

Anyway, exactly as the title of the thread promises, here’s some videos of the racing from Lydden this weekend, the quality isn’t Sky Sports or anything, but I think they’re viewable. You can either view the videos directly or, if you click on the link to my profile below, you can open them up individually with a “High Quality” version available:

http://uk.youtube.com/profile?user=tbtstt&view=videos
(First four videos listed are Winter Rallycross)

RX150 “A” Final:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/lmGjsUAFnhU&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/lmGjsUAFnhU&rel=0</a>
(Listen for the commentators Murray Walker moment; “Surely no one can beat him now”… *crunch*)

Stock Hatch “A” Final:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/iqhfKpnKYTQ&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/iqhfKpnKYTQ&rel=0</a>

Super Modified “A” Final:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/_zDXOlPESx8&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/_zDXOlPESx8&rel=0</a>
(I think this race best illustrated the potential of the “Joker” lap – great performances from Emery and Godfrey as well!)

Supercar “A” Final:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/se36kYb5-Z0&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/se36kYb5-Z0&rel=0</a>
(Sorry, the camera goes for a brief wander mid race, I was trying to prop myself up at the time!)

Congrats to Liam Doran for his first win at Lydden and, speaking of which, given that the Fiesta ST is to be his car for the next season (I think?), does anyone know what’s going to happen to his RS200? Is someone else going to compete in it, or is it being retired? (I’m hoping it’s the former rather than the latter).

Looking forward to Round 2 in February now!

Rallycross wise? Well, as long as I have a functional car I'll be at everything at Lydden this year. How many are travelling with me greatly depends on the weather!

I'd really like to try and make it to Croft as well, but its quite a trek North and may be a pain to fit in around work.

Anyone making the trek for the Feb 7th event?

I expect that there should be a few more entries on this one.

As I said above, I'm really hoping to make next weekends event, but I've just seen a weekly forecast and next Saturday is looking a bit sh*t...

...fingers crossed the weatherman have got it wrong again and it'll be OK, as I don't really fancy the drive down to Lydden in the snow...

For those who haven't heard, this Saturday's (23rd Jan) winter series event has been cancelled.

The Masterclass will go ahead as planned on Sunday, there are still places remaining - This is a very worthwhile opportunity. More info at www.lyddenhill.co.uk/lhmc.php

Ta very much! Good to see a few supercars on the list, though I'd been hoping that the Dorans might give their RS200 an airing. Not 100% as to whether I can make it now, but if I'm available then theres definately enough cars to make it worth the drive.
