The Stock Hatch categories final appearance as a part of the British championship (it will become exclusively a Clubmans class in 2010) produced the best entry of the year and a tough contest. the day was not easy for champion-elect Tony Lynch, but the Wigan-based racer came through to start the A final from pole position and then take his seventh win of the year.

Ryan Lawford was fastest in the first heat, the second topped by BTRDA Clubmans class front runner Darren Clark. Lynch asserted himself in the third heat, and chipped a fraction from Clark’s best to set the class FTD at 3m10.783s and earn the five bonus point for being fastest in class. Lawford lined up second on the A final grid, the front row completed by 2008 BTRDA champion Ric Horton who made his first appearance of the year here.

Clark shared row two with the unrelated Adam Clark, the newcomer again showing great speed in only his second event since making the switch to Rallycross from Autograss racing. John Rook and Dave Martin occupied the back row of the grid, joined there by Bob Hardie who beat Paul Smith to win the B final and make it to the main event.

Lynch led the final all the way, his closest rival of the year, Lawford, again leading the chase and never more than a car length or two adrift. the lead pair pulled away from Horton who placed third, comfortably ahead of Darren Clark and Adam Clark who fought a personal battle. Hardie climbed from eighth on the grid to bag sixth place ahead of Martin while Rook completed the finishers.
